What is the remedy about?
Fatty Liver Disease is globally common and is mainly deposition of fat in your liver cells. Most of the times, it has been seen that over consumption of alcohol results in this condition. However, Fatty Liver may develop due to reasons unrelated to alcohol consumption too. Home treatment of this disease is quite easy to perform and effective. Apple Cider Vinegar is one of the best home remedies to treat fatty liver. This ingredient has the potency to dissolve the considerable amount of fat in your liver cells. Thus, it helps you to get rid of unwanted body weight as well. You can take one tablespoon of raw or diluted apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water and drink this twice a day. For additional taste, you may add little amount of honey. It is recommended to drink this before your meals for better results. The next powerful remedy is Dandelion. This herb acts like a miracle for liver diseases. It is considered as a 'Liver Tonic" as it detoxifies the liver and helps in the metabolism of the stored fat. It ensures proper functioning of your liver, in other words. You can drop a few Dandelion roots or add 1 tablespoon of dried Dandelion root to a cup of warm water. Steep this for about 5 to 15 minutes, strain and serve this herbal tea hot thrice a day. Lemon is yet another natural detoxing ingredient. It is rich in Vitamin C which is a great antioxidant for detoxification. Vitamin C helps the liver in the production of Glutathione (toxin neutralizer). For preparing a detox drink, squeeze half a lemon into a cup or glass of water. Drink this twice of thrice a day as preferred.
Are there any side effects?
Most of the home remedies used to treat fatty liver have minimal or no side effect. Although, anything used in an excessive amount or not in a scientific manner will produce some adverse effects on your health. First of all, it is recommended to wait for some time before increasing the rate of intake. Some people who want to see the effects overnight, try increasing the rate of intake of their detox drinks. You need to remember that by doing this, you are only worsening the situation as anything in excessive quantity is not healthy for you. So, take it slow to avoid being a victim of complications while fighting a disease. Secondly, while drinking lemon water, make sure you strain and separate the seeds as the seeds contain Salicylic Acid which is the main ingredient in Aspirin. Also, don't stop or make any changes in your diet abruptly, give it a week at least or two to notice the positive benefits. In the case of Apple cider vinegar, the side-effects may vary depending on the quantity you intake. If you disobey the guidelines, you will be suffering from a number of side-effects such as blood thinning, low potassium, enamel erosion, cavities, etc. Apple cider vinegar acts as a blood coagulant, therefore, it will result in blood thinning if not used wisely. It has also been seen that people suffer from low potassium (Hypokalemia) sometimes due to this. Also, if you take medications which are causing low potassium levels, don't take apple vinegar cider. There is a chance of you developing Mucous Membrane Injury as well since the tissues present in your mouth, throat, esophagus and food pipe are lined with a mucous membrane which is likely to be affected by high acid intake. On the other hand, Dandelion may cause digestive errors, diarrhea, stomach inflammation, etc. So abide by the guidelines or seek your doctor's help before implementing.
What are the post-remedy guidelines?
Recurrence of the disease is not shocking if you start violating guidelines such as avoiding carbohydrate, abstaining from alcohol, adding more vegetables and fruits to your eating habits, drinking raw vegetable juice, exercising, etc. Abstaining from alcohol and carbohydrate is a must-to-do. This is because, with more consumption of these two components, you will invite trouble. Reducing carbohydrate consumption is important as your liver is capable of converting carbohydrate into fat. The liver has a natural filter for trapping toxins or fats present in your blood which becomes hindered by fat deposition. So try eating as many vegetables and fruits as possible for clearing the fat deposition. Exercises will keep you away from the disease too.
How long does it take to recover?
The time required to heal fatty disease is not certain and cannot be answered in a general way as it varies from person to person. It mainly depends on the type of symptoms you have come across. Most of the people suffer from dizziness, gastrointestinal issues, insomnia, jaundice, etc. For them, it is roughly a matter of 6 months to recover. If your symptoms are mild and few, don't worry for you may successfully reverse your fatty liver soon. Try keeping a list of symptoms, and do not delay to take actions. Also, if you cut down on alcohol and continue this for a good amount of time, you will heal faster.
Are the results of the remedy permanent?
Nothing is going to be permanent if don't follow a strict home remedy treatment. Avoiding the "don'ts" will alter the effects of the remedies obviously. So in order to rule out the cause, once you have healed properly from the disease, please make a list of "do's and don'ts" and stick to it. It is very important to remember that any violation will only cause you what you had in the beginning. If you cannot cut down on alcohol cold turkey, try lessening the amount of consumption remarkably. Work on your diet and exercise routine for your betterment. Please note that there is no permanent remedy to help you out here, it's all in your hands, and you decide to choose your way.
