What are the best home remedies for mosquitoes?

Many of you would have suffered from the itching caused by the bite of the omnipresent mosquito. When a mosquito bites us, it sucks our blood and leaves the saliva beneath our skin. This saliva is the reason behind that itching, redness, and swellings.

  6. White Toothpaste:

    For quick relief, you can apply a small amount of white toothpaste and leave it for as long as you desire.

  7. Raw Honey:

    It has anti-microbial properties that can help prevent infections as do lemons which can be rubbed a little over the bitten area.

  8. Basil leaves:

    Basil leaves are indeed one of the most effective natural home remedies for Mosquitoes. You can either directly rub the basil leaves gently on the skin or you can boil the dried basil leaves in water and apply on the skin gently.

  9. Tea tree oil:

    Tea tree oil possesses antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Tea tree oil repels mosquitoes and prevents skin from other insects as well.

  10. Neem oil:

    Neem oil is also an effective mosquito repellent. It prevents mosquito-borne disease.

  11. Camphor:

    Camphor is one of the effective natural home remedies that act as a mosquito repellent. Camphor has a strong fragrance that helps to prevent mosquitoes.

  12. Milk:

    Milk has a soothing effect and calms the skin from itching after a mosquito bite.

  13. Lavender oil:

    Lavender oil has its fragrance that repels mosquitoes. Lavender oil has also a soothing effect on the skin.

  14. Apart from these, salt and water paste, rubbing garlic cloves or applying warm olive oil can be of help:

    As can be seen, numerous simple remedies are using the readily available substances at home for a mosquito bite. Try and find the one that suits you best and follow it every time you need.
