Cabgolin 0.5Mg Tablet Health Feed

Asked for female, 31 years old from Junagadh

I delivered a baby boy on 30th of may and though it was a C Section I wasn't able to breast feed my baby for 3 days. After that I was lactating alot but my baby wasn't breast feeding so the doctor prescribed me cabliz 0.5 mg. I took 4 tablets and now the milk supply is next to zero. Now how to increase my milk supply as my baby is on formula feeding but I want to breastfeed him. Please answer.

I actually don't understand why you were not able to breastfeed for 3 days For C-section feeding is usually started after 2to 4hours after surgery. Initially even if there is no milk the sticky liquid called colostrum is good for the baby. Secondly caberlin tablet is given to stop Breast milk and is never given if the mother has to feed baby.

My age is 35 years old. As I told before my prolactin level high and last 2 and 1/2 month caberlin tablet is taken. Last week, intercourse did without protection because we have planning for baby. As per doc suggestion I have continued with caberlin tablet. My period date was 10th april and today also 27th april, again period is coming. Plss give me the suggestion? Why 2 times period is coming in this april month?

You can continue cabergoline. It does NOT affect the baby. rather abnormal prolactin can cause problems in bleeding and difficulty in conceiving.

what is your last cycle date. have you done thyroid test also if not get it done.
since your are already taking cabergoline for hyperprolactinemia so wait till prolactin level becomes normal.
Afterwards you can conceive.

I am 33 years old, planning to conceive. Got miscarriage in last year may, doctor advised to take folvite 0.5 mg tablet for 2 months before I plan for pregnancy. Recently doctor advised blood tests and in that tests it is observed that I have more prolactin. So doctor advised to take cabgolin 0.25 mg tablet for 4 weeks. What are the side effects of cabgolin? Can I take cabgolin tablet with folvite tablet? Pls help me with this question.

Taking folic acid 1 mg orally will prevent fetal neural tract defects. Cabergoline will control hyperprolactinemia and facilitate ovulation. Your doctor's advice is perfect and should be followed. Wish you a happy pregnancy soon.

Yes tsh levels do increase with fall in prolactin levels but not in a significant amount. Your tsh level right now is within range. For safety sake, get your tsh level checked 3 months after completing cabgolin course.

Meprate can help you to get period. Its not a medicine to cure pcod. Cabergoline is used to treat high prolactin. You have to reduce your weight through exercise and a balanced diet.

I wanted to stop breastfeeding to my 15 months old baby. I already have hypothyroidism. I was advised by the doctor to take cabgolin 0.5 medicine twicevwithin a gap of three days. But as soon as I took first dose, I had severe headache n pain in breasts with dizziness n chills. My breasts were engorged and started having lumps. I went back to doctor n they had to give me some antibiotics and painkillers. After 24 hours, the headache is still there and after expressing milk, breasts are fine, still heavy. I am really scared to take the last dose of cabgolin and do not trust the doctor at all as they really did not treat me well. In the first instance, doctor just advised cabgolin without having any look at my breasts or even touching me, when I had clearly told her, I am having engorged breasts and it's paining as I haven't fed my baby in last 24 hours and to give some medicine to ease the pain. Please advise if I should take another dose of cabgolin or not. Don't want to go through that hell feeling again.

Hi. I understand what you are going through. I wound like to tell you to first get treated for breast engorgement & simultaneously get stop feeding. Wear bra little tight than normal, express out all the milk before taking cabergoline. Do not handle the breast either by expressing or feeding the baby after taking the cabergoline dosage.

Hello,
It may so happen that complete breast milk suppression did not happen.
Avoid any form of breast stimulation,
get prolactin level done, and if still high need to take cabergoline once more.

I am 30 years old. I Ian trying to conceive since two months. After doing my pelvic USG & amh n prolactin test my doctor said I am having high prolactin level (42) and low amh (1.9) n also some follicles are found in right ovary. She prescribed caberlin 0.5,ovaries plus, miliana for two months. Please help me sir and let me know will these medications b helpful in conceiving and what you suggest further.

You can take cabgolin as it will help to control prolactin which will help in better egg formation. Miliana is a contraceptive so maybe there is a cyst in the ovary egg due to which it has been prescribed otherwise it is not required and will delay possibility of pregnancy in those 2 months.
