Cinod-T Tablet

This medication is a combination of two anti-hypertensive agents, namely Cilnidipine and Telmisartan. It aids in treating high blood pressure. The medicine stops the calcium activity on the blood vessels and the heart. As a result, there is an increase in the supply of blood to the heart.

In case of any severe reaction or side effect to this medicine, it is best that one should consult their doctor as soon as possible. This drug should not be taken unless it is prescribed by a doctor. Before taking this tablet, give detailed information on allergies, other health issues and conditions to the doctor.

  Cinod-T Tablet is not recommended for use in patients having heart conditions like heart attack, rhythm disorders, angina, narrowing of blood vessels etc.

• Dizziness

  The duration of action of this medicine is not clinically established.

• What is the onset of action?

  There are no established clinical studies regarding the onset of action of this medicine. However, it is reported to have a delayed onset in the range of 7-8 hours.

• Are there any pregnancy warnings?

  This medicine is not recommended for use if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy in near future.

• Is it habit forming?

  No habit forming tendencies were reported.

• Are there any breast-feeding warnings?

  This medicine is not recommended for use if you are breastfeeding.

• Missed Dose instructions

  Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped.

• Are there any overdose instructions?

  Contact your doctor immediately if an overdose is suspected. You may require immediate medical intervention if the overdose symptoms are severe.

Cinod-T Tablet is a calcium channel blocker. It works by inhibiting the entry of calcium into the cardiac and vascular smooth muscles and prevents the contraction of the muscles and thereby reduces the blood pressure. Along with this action, it also displaces angiotensin II with very high affinity from its binding site at the AT1 receptor subtype, which is responsible for the known actions of angiotensin II.

  Urinary vanillylmandelic acid

  Report the use of this medicine if you have been asked to undergo this test for the presence of adrenal gland tumor. Use of this medicine is likely to give false value that might be higher than normal.

• Interaction with Medicine

  Carbamazepine

  Report the use of either of the medicine to the doctor. You may require an adjusted dose and frequent monitoring of blood pressure levels while taking these medicines together. Do not stop the use of any medicine without consulting your doctor.

  Rifampicin

  Report the use of either of the medicine to the doctor. You may require an adjustment in dose and safety monitoring while these medicines are taken together. Do not stop the use of any medication without consulting your doctor.

  Cimetidine

  Report the use of either of the medicine to the doctor. You may require an adjusted dose and frequent monitoring of blood pressure levels while taking these medicines together. Do not stop the use of any medicine without consulting your doctor.

• Interaction with Disease

  Hypotension

  Cinod-T Tablet is not recommended in patients suffering from low blood pressure or cardiogenic shock as it may further lower the blood pressure causing severe adverse effects.

  Congestive Heart Failure (Chf)

  Cinod-T Tablet should be used with caution in patients who have suffered a heart attack recently. Suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring may be required in such cases.

• Interaction with Food

  Grapefruit juice

  Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended as it increases the concentration of Cinod-T Tablet. Symptoms like dizziness, headache, swelling of hands and feet should be reported to the doctor on priority.
