You can use deriphyllin retard 300 tablet .Theophylline is used to prevent and treat wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness caused by asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung diseases. It relaxes and opens air passages in the lungs, making it easier to breathe. Liver disease not its side effect

Hello lybrate-user, no as with any medication it is not safe. I suggest you to only use it when you have acute exacerbations of the allergic rhinitis.
Hope it helped.

None of them is best as they don't have any curative effects... they just suppress the symptoms for time being...
Better take homoeopathic treatment.

If you take it blindly without knowing the cause of wheeze, I will say a big "no" please check up with pulmonologist to find out the cause. If any obstructive pulmonary disease is present, then it will help. Still it is not first line therapy, but add on therapy.

Deriphyllin is not recommended for asthma and allergy.
Treatment for asthma and allergy are inhalers, anti-allergy tablets.
You will need a lung function test, chest xray, ige and cbc level following which your inhaler dose and tablets can be decided.

We don't use deriphyllin too often due to adverse effects and few recommendations for use in patients.
