Hello, Thanks for the query.
The drugs prescribed for yor father Gliclazide and Voglibose are well known and safe drugs. There are hardly any side effects. Persons with diabetes take these drugs for years together. Both are very well tolerated compounds. Therefore, if his diabetes is well controlled, then he should continue the same. In a well controlled diabetes Fasting Glucose should be < 100 mg, Pp 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Thanks.

U should ask your physician as he is the person who knows your case in detail.
U should do the following
A diabetes diet simply means eating the healthiest foods in moderate amounts and sticking to regular mealtimes. A diabetes diet is a healthy-eating plan that's naturally rich in nutrients and low in fat and calories. Key elements are fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
U can take (moderate amount)
Grapes.
Apples.
Berries.
Citrus fruits.
Pineapple.
Papaya.<...more

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the details given. I really do not see the reason to change to newer tablets, because earlier too you were on Tenelegliptin, then Dimicron (Gliclazide) with metformin. The newer tablets do not have Gliclazide, hence the blood glucose control will not be as good as earlier.
You should contnue the earlier drugs, plus take a restricted diet and do more exercise per day ove 1 hour. That will help in reducing HbA1c%. Thanks.

Reclide is oral hypoglycemic aren't comes under sulphonylurea group which are basically insulin secretogauge. It causes hypoglycemia. As it is prescribed by your physician, then it must be based on Blood reports and clinical examination. You should not worry about it. Regards.
