About Dilantin 25 MG Suspension

Dilantin 25 MG Suspension helps in the treatment of worm infections and Schistosoma infections. It is prescribed to treat all stages of schistosomiasis caused by all Schistosoma species pathogenic to humans; clonorchiasis and opisthorchiasis.

You must consume this drug along with foods. Consume this drug with a glass of water. Also, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding must take medical help before consuming this drug.

Your doctor may monitor your blood counts and liver function before you start taking this drug throughout your treatment. Do not skip the doses and finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping without completing the course of this drug may increase your risk of further infection.

Take exactly as directed for full course of medication. Tablets may be chewed, swallowed whole, or crushed and mixed with food. Increase dietary intake of fruit juices. All family members and close friends should also be treated.

To reduce the possibility of reinfection, wash hands and scrub nails carefully with soap and hot water before handling food, before eating, and before and after toileting. Keep hands out of the mouth. Disinfect toilet daily and launder bed linens, undergarments, and nightclothes daily with hot water and soap.

    How does this medication work?

    Belonging to the class of anthelmintics (anti-worm), this drug affects the permeability of the cell membrane thereby killing the worms. This drug increases the cell permeability to calcium in schistosomes, causing strong contractions and paralysis of worm musculature leading to detachment of suckers from the blood vessel walls and to dislodgement.
