Tablet gluconorm 500sr is containing only 500 mg of metformin in sustained release form. Where as the gluconorm pg2 contains glimiperide 2 mg and pioglitazone 15 mg. The second tablet must have been prescribed because the blood glucose levels are not in control. Thanks.

The tablet mentioned is to be taken for treating diabetes for quite a long time. Because diabetes is going to go away after 16 days. Since no other information is guven like fasting, pp glucose & hba1c%, no further comments can be made. If you have developed diabetes then treatment has to be continued for life time. It seems that the diet also is not being followed. Please follow strict diet and exercise. Continue current medicines and add tab olymprix 20 mg one after breakfast and tab pioz 15 mg one after dinner. Check blood sugars after 10 days and consult your doctor.
