Mr. lybrate-user, If you do not have diabetes and still want to avoid sugar as part of keeping free from extra sugar, it is better to avoid even the sugar free tabs. Those are not really safe. Thanks.

Mr. Lybrate-user, to prevent diabetes one has to adapt a modified lifestyle. Which means maintain near normal weight, exercise daily for 1 hour or more, take restricted diet giving exact calories based on ideal body weight.
Avoid too much of sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, sweet corn syrup containing products, high fat milk products and highly processed products. Sugarless tablet alone are not much of help.

Mr. lybrate-user, A person with diabetes should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, other bakery items, and foods made from maida, sweetened aerated drinks (colas), fructose corn syrup containing products, highly processed foods and high fat milk products.
Should consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits (100 g a day). Use whole grain flour for chapati and roti. Avoid red meat. Thanks.
