Both are long acting ics-laba combination drugs. The only difference being that salmeterol (seroflo) acts a little slower than formoterol (maxiflo).
Side effects range from hypersensitivity, altered taste, oral candidiasis, tachycardia to pneumonias.

It is a relatively safe drug .If you rinse your mouth 5 minutes after taking the inhalation then the risk of oropharyngeal candidiasis or dysphonia will be lessened.
