Mr. Lybrate-user, to prevent diabetes one has to adapt a modified lifestyle. Which means maintain near normal weight, exercise daily for 1 hour or more, take restricted diet giving exact calories based on ideal body weight.
Avoid too much of sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, sweet corn syrup containing products, high fat milk products and highly processed products. Sugarless tablet alone are not much of help.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if a person develops diabetes, then he should initiate proper treatment. Treatment will depend upon type of diabetes and severity of blood glucose levels. It's not really bad but being in control is a good habit. So make health a priority in life. You have to view it with a holistic approach and make necessary changes in your daily routine. This would include eating only healthy food and ( restricting or avoiding junk food and processed food and beverages ). Have a good breakfast within 2 hours if getting up. One can prevent diabetes if a strict life style modification is followed. Namely maintain your weight near normal, (which is fine with you as the weight is much less, exercise for more than 1 h every day, avoid deep fried foods, less of sweets and direct sugar. Also avoid alcohol and smoking. With these changes you should be able to keep free from diabetes.

An approximate amount of 7-9 teaspoons of added sugar in males and 5-6 teaspoons in females is the outer limit for maintenance of sugar levels in human body daily. But along with this, regular exercise and healthy eating is required too.
Kindly eat your meals on time and in appropriate quantities. Salad and juices also help in enhancing metabolism.
Walk daily, drink lots of water, be stress free.
Fruits have a natural sweetener in them that can be improvised in making dessert....more
