Hi.
Metosartan is a combination of Telmisartan and metoprolol.
Nebicard is a medicine which belong to same drug class as metoprolol. Taking both is not suggested.
So you should not start nebicard and continue with Metosartan in the morning and Telmisartan in evening.
Thanks

It would be better if you go back to the doctor as it is a good practice to followup with your family doctor ( where you are regularly checked - clinical examination is vital ). Please feel free to discuss your concerns and doubts with your doctor so that you can stay confident and take informed decisions. There is always a choice of second opinion if you are not convinced. Over all, take charge of your complete health ( mind and body ) by adapting health lifestyle and yoga. You can also revert ...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I am sure there must other brands of Telmisartan 40 mg with hydrochlorthiazide 12.5 mg available. You can buy those. Cutting the tablet does not give accurate dosage. There are q number of brands of Telmisartan in the market. Thanks.

Telma ct contains telmisartan 80 mg and chlorthalidone 6.25 mgs. You can ask the pharmacist to give you medicine containing the same of any reputed manufacturer.
If its still unavailable then you can contact your physician to change the type of drug prescribed.

Your bp. You should not stop bp tablet or reduce it without consulting your physician. It only 'controls' bp at certain level but does not cure permanently. Don't change bp dosage without consulting your physician.

It's always better to take new tablets of half strength. Though if you break a tab it's of no issue for the above drugs. But for some drugs like enteric coated ppi etc doesn't work properly if you break.

Yes you can take all these medications in place of telma. These all have the same compound. Telmisartan. Also you should do diet and exercise DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. Hi, Lybrate user,
telma 40 contains "telmisartan" only but 'telma h 'includes "hydrochlorothiazide" with telmisartan, required to treat oedema of feet due to retention of fluid.
Moreover, you need to assess your physical condition, first to start telma h.
Tk, care.

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Telmisartan plus Amlodepine (TELMA AM) is a good and safe combination. The other tablet mentioned is Losartan + Hydrochlothiazide. That too is good. Doctor must have changed to newer drug for getting better control. But if she is not comfortable with that, she can take the earlier combination. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Since he is on two different tablets (Telmisartan + Hydrochlorthiazide & Metoprolol), it is possible that the medications are still not adequate. Some additional treatment is necessary for better control. Thanks.
