You can follow the suggestion given by the other doctor and observe the body's response to it. Have patience as it may take some time for the body to respond positively in some cases. Keep doing the right things: 1) Daily exercise for 30 mins to 1 hour (add yoga and pranayam - learn it from an expert for better results) 2) Eat healthy food (more of natural food / organic food and avoid junk food/ processed and packaged food and beverages.

1) You are effectively taking three tablets, Amlodipine Metoprolol and Telmisartan
2) Doses of all the medicines are small, so your question is justified 3) For a 10-15 mm change in BP you can try for aggressive diet and exercise schedules.

Blood pressure is a tendency - not a disease. It gives rise to diseases- heart diseases, kidney diseases, stroke - can all happen with high blood pressure. The medicine is to control your bp and please remember that once your tendency of high bp has developed then it will remain for life. Hence to curb this tendency - the medicine is to be taken for life.

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query.
Madam I have seen the details, which are not complete. You have mentioned only about thyroxine dosage (62.5 mcg), but there is no mention of tsh levels. Because when you on treatment for hypothyroidism, with adequate dose, tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l. Plus there is also no mention of your bp readings, so there is no way to comment.
I am unable to understand how some doctor can say that thyroxine and telmisartan are causing the proble...more

Ten days, or earlier. Measure BP only once every two weeks after resting for ten minutes. Excessive BP measurement won't help your health.
