When blood glucose is not well controlled, (> 180 mg/100 ml), some amount of glucose is lost in the urine. If patient has very high glucose level then more of it is lost, leading to weakness and lethargy, tiredness etc. It is important to achieve a good glucose control with fasting glucose closer to 100 mg, PP 170 to 180 mg & HbA1c% < 7.
