Yes there is a test for sleep apnea. It is called polysomnography or sleep study. This test is done overnight when you are asleep. It will involve connecting certain wires and electrodes which will monitor your breathing pattern, oxygen level in blood, air flow, ECG and many more during sleep. The cost varies on the level of sleep study. Basic study measures only 3 or 4 parameters. While a comprehensive sleep study have more than 20 channels. Thus it may vary between 2000 to 15000 depending on the number of channels.
Finally treatment involves lifestyle modification, Using certain devices while sleeping and under special circumstances surgery.
The treatment will depend on the severity of sleep apnea in sleep study.
