Hi, Thanks for writing in, welcome to the forum. Yes, it is possible to prevent transmission of HIV from mother to child in a large proportion of people. Well established protocols for this are available and have been used for many years now. Most medium to large hospitals should have this facility. A number of medicines such as nevirapine etc have been used at various doses and combinations with varying rates of success. Consult your gynecologist in person for more information on this.
