Hello doctors. Can hiv transmitted between two hiv negative partners if they do unprotected intercourse. And one of the partner have three partners but still negative. Is there a risk?

Hi, Thanks for writing in, welcome to the forum. If neither partner has HIV, HIV cannot be created by having intercourse. If one of the partners has multiple partners, one might want to double check if he/ she is truly negative by repeating the test after a few weeks. Rarely, the test may be negative whereas the person is actually HIV positive. But if the person is truly negative, there is no question of transmission. Take care!
