Hi lybrate-user! As you know, babies should be given breastmilk exclusively till 6 months. But since you do not have enough milk, you may give a few formula feeds per day. Apart from that, make sure you are not stressed. Take enough rest. Have a nutritious diet. Have plenty of fluids like milk, water. Try taking garlic, groundnuts. Tab. Lactare can be taken thrice daily to increase milk production. Regarding lactation medicines, pls consult your gynaecologist. Cow's milk is not advisable till 6 months of age. It is difficult for young babies to digest cow's milk so early and can lead to intolerance. Try giving breastmilk as much as possible. If needed, give whatever formula milk doctor has told you. Hope this helped you:-)

It's really unfortunate that so many lactating mothers disbelieve themselves. They lose the largesse of nature's goodies, free supply of breast milk and enjoyment of contentment. Please observe the frequency and color of urine, monitor the growth chart before concluding the inadequacy of breastfeeding. Many times, decision to top feed the baby is hasty and unnecessary. Anyway if you have decided that you have inadequate breast milk secretion and you can't afford formula feeds, you can use cow milk, but remember, it (foreign protein) is known to develop allergies if given before one year of age.

No no please don't go for that. You take Homoeopathic Lac Can 200C one dose and then take Cosmos 30C 3 doses (morning, evening, and night) for 2 weeks. This will increase the flow of breast milk. Still if you have any queries, please let me know. Take care :)
