My friend who was around 36 years lost his life few days back. He used to have alcohol once in a while. His both kidneys were damaged completely. So I want to know that usually /maximum/minimum how much time does it take for kidneys getting damaged completely. And what are the symptoms and reasons for it. Thanx.

Regular alcohol intake in moderate quantity or occasionally usually does not damage kidneys so badly and rapidly leading to failure. There must be some other cause for kidney failure in your friend. Causes for kidney failure are long standing diabetes (20 plus yrs), not well controlled, high bp again of long standing, kidney infections or other diseases of kidney. Usual symptoms may be swelling of lower limbs, reduced urination, passing of albumin in urine etc.
