Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. If you have T2 DM, then it is likely to be seen in your children. If both parents are diabetic then 75% chance of children getting diabetes (3 out of 4 ). If one parent is diabetic then a 50% chance is there. But fortunately T2 DM is a preventable disease, meaning if a person adapts a modified lifestyle that is does regular exercise, avoids too much of sweets, colas, junk foods, pastries, bakery items and fructose corn syrup containing foods, plus consumes a good deal of green leafy vegetables, fruits and maintains normal weight then he/she can prevent it or postpone it. Thanks.
