My age is 53 Yrs. Weight 91, height 5 ft11 inches. I was taking 1 Tab TAZLOC-AM 40 mg, 1 Tab-TONACT-10, since 9 Years, and 1/2 tab Debistal-GM daily since 2 yrs. In last 3 months I have reduced my weight 98 to 91 Kgs. Now I have checked my B.P. Many times and found 108/74, and before reducing weight it was 145/90. Pls advice if I have to continue TAZLOC-AM in future or should observe BP after stopping it. Lipid profile and sugar level is normal. Best regards.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Weight reduction does help in reducing the BP as well as blood glucose levels. But that will not cure one of either hypertension or diabetes. It basically helps in better control. You may consult your doctor and ask him if any change in the treatment of BP can be made, that is instead of two drug combination can one single drug be taken. As regards the blood glucose ideally FBG should be <100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8, then only one can say diabetes is well controlled. With 91 kgs weight your BMI is still fairly high at 28.08 kgs/M2 (normal <23 kgs). If you have any doubts please do come back. Thanks.
