Bipolar affective disorder (bpad) tends to run in families. So if you get married & have children, there is a slight chance of your children also developing bpad at some point in their life. But its not 100% i. E. Its not always that they will have mental illness. Its just a chance factor. Plus if you take your medicines of bpad regularly, you will remain fine & can prove to be a very good husband & father. All the best!
