Good evening doctor my husband takes envas 5mg for hypertension has h1c-11.3 has been prescribed volix 0.3. What is volix for doctor? thanks for your time doctor.

Madam, it appears he has uncontrolled diabetes (hba1c 11.3%). Volix is voglibose a drug given to slow down glucose absorption following a meal. It helps in reducing after food rise blood glucose level. However, his treatment for diabetes is not adequate, needs to be changed. In good controlled diabetes hba1c level is around 6.5%
