I recently had my HSG test done and it shows both sides of my fallopian tubes blocked. It's been 2.5 years since my marriage and I also have hypothyroidism since birth. Do I have chances to conceive and why I am still having periods if tubes are blocked?

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. When tubes are blocked, ovum can not reach the uterine cavity, hence fertilization can not occur. So there is surgical option available to release the block, through the laperoscopic surgery. With this chances of becoming pregnant do go up. You may consider that option in consultation with your doctor. As regards the menstrual cycles, those occur because hormones are secreted and reach uterus and regulate the cycles. Thanks.
