I went to ENT specialist for removing earwax. There he used something sharp equipment to remove earwax. After treatment, I was unconscious for about 15 minutes. My body started sweating and became cold suddenly. I was feeling paralyzed in my hands and legs for those 10-15 minutes. As the time passed, my body came to normal position after 20 minutes. Is this usual after earwax removal treatment? Or there is another issue behind this?

This is not usual, but sometimes after earwax removal this may happen. It is because just behind the ear membrane passes a nerve known as vagus nerve which if stimulated causes reduction of heart rate. While removing your wax, this nerve might have been stimulated during your wax removal, accounting for your symptoms.

Ya. That happens with wax removal in few individuals but not all. Its called as "vaso vagal syncope" its due to stimulation of one nerve called vagus in the ear. If somebody is too sensitive this happens. Nothing else.

You should have asked the doctor for the facts and got clarification.Usually removal of the ear wax is a simple procedure and routinely done. You landed onto some complication and so needs to be probed. If you are not satisfied with the explanation the take a second opinion. Hope you are keeping good health now.

It is not normal to fall unconscious soon after removal of earwax. Also, unless there is some indication, we do not need to remove earwax manually as body does it on its own, You need to to take Homoeopathic medicine Arnica 200 to remove ill effects of damage due to this procedure.
