My mother 63 years is having diabetes since 10 years her sugar is around 150-200 ,but her sugar become 200-350 .After consulting doctor the doctor given glimisave 1000 mg ,voglibose while she was taking glycomet GP2 500 mg ,vobit Pls suggest what to do. As 1000 mg is high power Is taking insulin good or continue with the medicine..

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Based on the details mentioned it looks like her blood glucose level is not in good control. It is better if her HbA1c% is checked, which gives an idea about long term control. Usually in patients with long standing diabetes in later years, treatment with Insulin becomes a necessity. Because oral drugs do not give necessary response. My suggestion is please comeback with following details: Fasting, PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, dietary pattern extent of daily exercise and dosage of current medication, preferably in a private conversation (paid consultation, where I will be able to guide specifically plus prescribe the required drugs including Insulin if needed.
