My father is around 65 years. Last 30 years he was a habitual alcoholic. But from last 6 months he quit from alcohol. But since 3 months his belly and leg ankles were swelling .Today by the USG, LFT test we found he is suffering liver cirrhosis. But the test was negative from hepatitis b, and C.So I need your valuable suggestions. therefore I will give him better medicine for his long life.

Hi Mohanty, Thanks for posting your query on Lybrate. Alcohol can cause Liver Cirrhosis. Since your father was a habitual drinker since 30 years, it would have caused Liver Cirrhosis. Good that he has stopped drinking. Kindly take your father to a General Physician for treatment.
