I used to smoke and from last two days I have stopped smoking it once for all so I want to know is it safe to stop smoking at once? If yes then what are quick effects of quitting smoking and what precautions should be taken after stopping smoking.

It is safe to stop smoking at once. Your peripheral circulation may also begin to improve during this time. However, during this time you may also begin to experience some of the adverse effects of quitting smoking: withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms may include anxiety, increased appetite, irritability, sleeplessness, and intense cravings. When you quit smoking, the inflammation in the airways goes down. The little hair-like projections in the airways that we call cilia ? which are paralyzed by smoke ? begin to work again. So the lungs will get better in weeks to months.
