Please understand that heart attack happens when any of the arteries supplying blood to heart get suddenly blocked with a blood clot, this generally happens because a cholesterol plaque ruptures at the location. Cholesterol plaques start forming in human bodies as early as 4 yrs of age and this is not shown on any ecg, echo etc, and hence the only thing we can do is to try and prevent a heart attack from happening by trying to stabilize the plaque which is done by - 1) keeping cholesterol in normal limit 2) By avoiding factors that can make plaque unstable like smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, decreasing LDL cholesterol, drinking in moderation and keeping diabetes and BP in control 3) Daily exercising and physical activity also helps. So please live a healthy lifestyle avoid smoking, exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet with less sugar and simple carbohydrates and more fruits, vegetables and fibers and get your cholesterol, sugar and BP checked from time to time this will help in timely detection of any heart blockage.
