Hi Dr. I just want to know regarding typhoid vaccination for children. My child is 2 years old n her paediatrician advised that it is not necessary to take typhoid vaccine. So we skip the dose. Is it possible to take this vaccine at any age?

It is better to take typhoid vaccine at any age after six months of age. For children bellow two years of age (tcv) polysaccharide conjugate vaccine should be used. After two years routine vi surface polysaccharide vaccine can be given every three years. Need for booster dose of tcv conjugate vaccine is not yet studied.
