My daughter is 3 years old and she is having cold and cough for more than 3 weeks. No fever. 2 days back visited pediatrician and he said lungs are clear and there is no sign of infection. He prescribed rekof. My concern is that may be she is suffering with any allergy! I want to know about types of colds and causes. Is that eating one chocolate daily can cause cold? My husband is asthmatic. So, I worried so much about my kids. Can you please tell precautions.

As per your description your daughter might have developed allergic rhinitis. It's multifactorial. May occur due to dusts and pollution. Season change. Some genetic predisposition is also there. Avoid dusts and pollution. Take extra precautions during season change. Regular change of pillow covers and bedsheets. Steam inhalation regularly may also help. Need to take regular treatment when symptoms arise. Delay in treatment or no treatment may create complications.
