Costochondritis is nothing but a minor infection in bone? reason for costochondritis? Y it happens? Thyroid patient face this problem?

Hi.
There is not much to worry about costochondritis. it is just a minor inflammation in the junction that joins the ribs and cartilage to the breastbone. 
it is usually caused due to any viral or bacterial infections. It usually subsides by itself. 
It could also be due to any chest surgery performed that leads to reduced blood flow to the suture site. But that also come down eventually. 
As far as the studies show, Thyroid does not seem to have anything to do with this problem.

Costochondritis affects the cartilage where the upper ribs attach to sternum. It causes shooting pains down your limb or unbearable chest pain.
Possible causes are heredity, viruses and injury to chest.

Costochondritis is actually inflammation and not infection. It?s basically inflammation of joint between bone and cartilage. Generally it goes on itself by 3-4 weeks but if you have a lot of problem, you can start Medicine to reduce inflammation. Thyroid does not have any relation with pain. If you have a lot of symptoms be sure that you have costochondritis only.
