My baby is 5 month old, while breastfeeding I am having severe pain around my nipple, and itching too. please suggest me some remedy.

You can apply zytee ointment or nipheal ointment in between feeds.

Hi, most probably you have got cracked nipple, for healing start nipcare cream 2-3 times a day in between feeds, have some painkillers for pain, like tab dolo 650 mg SoS, most important of all you should feed your child in proper position so that this can be avoided later.

Hi lybrate-user, Nipple sore is a horrible condition for some. Many people give up breastfeeding because of the pain. You have this throbbing pain and at the other end you have this darling baby waiting to be fed. Breastfeeding is very essential and nipple sore can treated, here are some home remedies: ? Using lanolin creams such as Nipcare for basic sores ? If it?s worse try not feeding on the side which is bad and use only one side. Hand express from the bad side. Let it heal and then you can continue. You can get lopsided, but things will get back to normal ? Contact la leche league leaders close to your area. They are ready to help through phone. And here is the best and most effective remedy: ? Burn dry coconut on direct flame till it chars. Take a stone or on a hard surface. Apply ghee and rub this charred dry coconut, till you get a paste.
