I?m 22 years old female, diagnosed with pcod since I have got acne and hair growth on face. proactive serum level is high and otherwise testosterone levels are okay. My periods are regular too with the normal bleeding I get from when I attended puberty .My weight is also correct and I have a balanced diet usually. But I don?t understand why I got PCOD and what should be done now for it? Oral medications will help or how? Since my flow is regular.

See Pcod is a genetic disorder rather multifactorial. Not all pcos will have irregular or absent periods. It can be lean or obese PCOS like you fall into lean pcos. So good sign thay you have regular periods and normal androgens. So nothing extra you should do except for acne and hairs on face you need to see a dermatologist and take minimum three to six cycles of dianette daily. Which needs prescription .it will help control proactive hormones levels and acne along with hirsutism.
