Stricture of the urethra is the instruction to outflow of the lower urinary tract. Whenever there is obstruction, there is undesired back pressure. It not only has ill effects on the organs present upstream like urinary bladder, ureter and kidneys but it also makes the tract susceptible to infection. Either way it is quite harmful to those organs. It may cause irreversible damage to those organs if the obstruction continues for longer period of time. There is no single tablet or injection which removes the narrowed part without surgery. Surgery is a preferred method if it is beneficial as against the other methods. Endoscopic method is useful if feasible. Periodic Blind dilatation is age old method of treating the urethral stricture. You are quite young but that is the very reason why you should not delay getting the outflow tract diameter increased. Urosurgeon is the right person for you to consult on this problem.
