My wife is pregnant first trimester and her HPCL blood report shows borderline elevated levels of HbA2 (3.8). Kindly guide if there's something to worry about.

Hello lybrate-user This levels are indicative of beta thalassemia but does she has family history of it. If yes then the baby needs to be investigated with in 5 months cordocentesis can be done to take foetal blood sample. If no family history from both her parents side then relax sometimes naturally these levels are shown high without any specific relevance.
