How can I can differentiate between pcos and ovarian cyst. please explain in detail. I am having pcos. But it can be possible that I am having ovarian cyst and not pcos. How shd I differentiate. And can bkth of these go off on its own.

Hello. Ovarian cyst and PCOS both can affect your mensus. But they can be differentiated by USG easily. PCOS is seen as multiple small follicles (more than 12) of 2-9 mm size where as cyst will be single. Moreover PCOS is associated with hormonal disturbances and LH: FSH ratio is >2. Ovarian cyst if simple <3 cm or haemorrhagic resolves on it's own. PCOS generally requires treatment.
