Age 86 male. Diabetic type 2. Average 90/230. Present complaint: My hypertension was 80/120 always. 17-7-2017 160/100 mmHG 21-7-2017 140/90" My physician prescribed on 17-7-2017 Eritel CH 40 1 at 9 am Translol XL 50 1 tab BD This is 6 months ago. Now my CGHS doctor has prescribed Nebilong 5 mg half tab in the morning. They don't have BP apparatus. Advice.

Hello Sir, Choice of antihypertensive medicines is done on the basis of comorbid disease and age of the patient. Calcium channel blockers would suit to your profile. Betablockers like Nebilong should be avoided in diabetic patient and patient above 70 (It may be used in some heart problem or if BP not controlled with ARBs and Calcium channel blockers).
