Hi, am 35 weeks pregnant n having gestational diabetes. Doc first gave me glycomet with which my sugar was getting controlled. However, doc then decided to start with insulin with 6 unit which then he increased to 8unit as post dinner n fasting sugar was in the range of Post dinner (around 150) & morning fasting (105- 114. After this I increased the evening insulin dose to 10 unit but even after increasing unit post dinner sugar level has also increased .Now it is coming around 170. I am controlling on diet and doing 40 mins walk also. Please help n tell me how to control this. Can I take glycomet n insulin both?

If your fasting sugar is 105-110 it's absolutely normal post dinner bjd sugar (2 hrs after dinner) <180 is fine. Follow your doctor's advice, continue with your exercise routine. Cut down on carbohydrate ,eat more of vegetables and salads. Take small frequent meals. Do your daily fetal movement counting. You should be delivered by 37-38 weeks.
