Sir, My uric acid level is 12.8 mg/dl. 7 days back it is 9.1 mg. Now increased I ate non veg. I scaring now. Yesterday I started Ebuxo 40 mg. Shall I continue with. Or can I use Ebuxo 80 mg. Please suggest.

Thanks for the query. Normal upper limit of uric acid in serum is 7 mg/ 100 ml. At higher levels it can cause arthritic problems. It is not that every one with high uric acid does get arthritis. But high levels can precipitate an acute attack too. As regards taking the drug mentioned, please tell me whether you have consulted any doctor or decided to take the same on your own? Plus please tell me if you have any symptoms of gout. Thanks.
