My wife has hidradenitis suppurativa since last 13 years, started during pregnancy. For initial 3-4 years, frequencies were less and once a year boils were seen. But since last 5 years, continuously she has boils in under arm and groin area. As per NORD norms, it is in Harley stage 2. We tried Allopathic, Homeopathic and Ayurvedic treatment. Under antibiotic, boil intensity gets lower, but does?t disappear completely. She took doxycycline for 8 months. She is 73 kg in weight with 5 feet high. Due to boils she is able to do exercise limited. General Health is ok. Can you suggest treatment/remedies for this? Whether change in Food, Life style, Weight reduction, Steam Bath, avoiding sweats can help in this?

Surely this can be treated with medical management. It is a inflammatory condition of sweat glands. There are specific antibiotics for this condition and regular antibiotics will not work. To prevent relapse another medication is advised to decrease hyperactivity of sweat glands. Weight reduction and decreasing carbohydrates in diet are also important. A physical consultation is necessary for further management.
