My daughter often suffers form cough and cold especially during season change and moist weather. Paediatrician has advised to take Laveta M (5 ml) once a day for three months .Is it good for a baby of 2 years and 2 months to continue a medicine for so long a period? Can it affect her immune system?

Your paediatrician must have diagnosed allergic bronchitis and the preventive therapy with Montelukast is right.

I assume your child is suffering from recurrent bronchitis. This is very common below 5-6 years of age. This will gradually decrease with age as wind pipe widens with age. The medicine which is prescribed by years pediatrician is fine. Continue with that. It has no side effects.
