Cryptorchidism usually needs surgery at 6 months to bring down the testes into the scrotum for their normal development. As the age at which surgery is done increases, the chances of infertility increase. Will need to do semen analysis to check the sperm count if it was detected at the age of 20 years. Need to see a urologist for the same. Also it has high chances of developing testicular cancer especially if untreated till age of around 13 years. After that orchidopexy may or may not decrease the chances of cancer but makes it is easier to check for swelling.
