Dear sir I have diabetes reading of 106 FBS, 190 PPBS, triglycerides of 229, other readings are normal. I have diabetes since 9 years. I am taking now glycomet gp2 one tablet in the morning and also at night. Do you advise any medicine for triglycerides or change in medicine for diabetes. Any other piece of advise.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Your glucose levels mentioned look fairly good. It would have been better if you had mentioned HbA1c%, which would have given an idea of long term control. Ideally fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Your weight seems to be higher than needed. Reduction in weight would help in better blood glucose control. TGL 229 mg does not need any treatment. Healthy and restricted diet and regular exercise should help. Thanks.
