If you have felt a swelling in the breast, it is better to show it to a Breast Surgeons a Surgical oncologist. They would take a detailed history and examine you and go through the ultrasound report. Fibrocystic changes are very common and are common cause of breast pain and swelling especially cyclical pain. The would be felt as modularity of the breast and seen as just Breast tissue or sometimes as small cysts. Some times some of the cysts may enlarge causing a lot of pain, which need to be aspirated (but should have been seen on ultrasound) Also they need to rule out other causes of pain like ill fitting bra, trauma or musculoskeletal or costichondritis pain amongst a few. Sometimes the swelling is of the whole breast, it may be just due to the inequality of the breasts, which is quite common. Feel free to contact me directly if you have further questions.
