I went for a blood test yesterday. I fear that the needle used for fingertip prick might not be new. Though it was in a protective cap and there was no syringe attached to it. What might be my chances of getting hepatitis or HIV? I am doubting that the needle (no syringe attached) was used on someone else ,recapped and again used on me. Can I get HIV or hepatitis if the same needle is used to prick infected person than me. I think the needle was hollow type and had a blue color gauge. Though at time it was used on me It was having protective cap. Please help I am going crazy with stress and anxiety.
