My daughter is 1 year old. At birth she was given immunoglobulin injection followed by respective doses. Now she has been diagnosed with hepatitis b. How it is possible? When can we start her treatment. My current doctor suggested after 18 months. Please guide us.

Dear Sir, Please check whether she has received vaccine or immunoglobins. If she has taken vaccine (it contains hbsag) it will show hbs ag positive till antibodies develop, repeat hbsag and antihbs antibodies after 3 months. Please consult a hepatologist or gastroenterologist for assessment and management Regards.
