Dear Lybrate User, Thanks for asking this question on open platform, as many of the patients has this query. 1. There is found to be +/-5 mm Hg variation in Blood pressure recordings, instrument to instrument. If you have calibrated your own instrument with the help of accurate instrument then it is absolutely alright. 2. There is term called "white coat" hypertension: many of patient has found to be have increased Blood pressure reading in health-care settings as compared to home-care settings (main reason behind this is anxiousness leading to increased sympathetic activity which raises blood pressure as well as heart rate). Sometimes it is as musch difference as 20-30 mm of Hg. 3. Another important thing we all should understand that, Blood pressure is a DYNAMIC variable of our body. It changes every moment to moment, our body's reactions to environmental change, stress, exercise or physical activity, mood changes etc. These variations also affect our Blood pressure. 4. Coming to your case, You are on Antihypertensive therapy, your home BR recording as well as BP recording in Hospital setting both are under control. Normal BP range in your age group is SBP 100-140 mm of Hg DBP 60-90 mm of Hg. 5. So you should remain stressfree, avoid any unnecessary stress. 6. Stop Smoking, alcohol as well as any habit forming substance. 7. Balanced diet. 8. Restricted Salt and refined sugar. 9. Daily practice of Yog and Pranayam.(minimum 30 minutes) 10.
