My age is 18 year. The nerve of the back part of my head (left part up to left ear) pains on pressing. And when I speak too much or laugh too much the nerve seems to be grooved on touching. And sometimes instantaneous needle like pain occurs there. Is anything serious and why it is happening? How can I get relief from this and what Is the treatment for this? Please answer sir.

Dear lybrate-user, You may be suffering from a rare form of neuralgia called occipital neuralgia. It is usually paroxysmal painful condition triggered by some maneuvers (as you described) may also have tenderness. It definitely has got management like medical, posture correction, nerve blocks and in refractory cases neurosurgical intervention. But first of all please attend a Neurologist who can pinpoint your diagnosis and guide you properly. Wish you all the best!
