I went into the swimming pool on 9th June and since then I can't hear from my left ear. I am taking Ocupol and Ciplox from 1 week but there's no result. Doctor said there's swelling inside which will go in about 5 days but it's more than a week now. Need a suggestion.

Hello Ms. lybrate-user, the infection your ear has is called as 'otitis externa' It can curable by using antibiotic ear drops with the prescription of your ENT. If you are suffering from more pain and discomfort then consult ENT and consult an audiologist to know whether there is more severity in your loss of hearing. Avoid it by using bathing caps or ear plugs while swimming and showering, keep your ear always dry and do not put any objects into the ear. With the ear drops it will take 7 to 10 days to cure. Do not worry about it and protect your ears.
